IN exercise of the powers
conferred on then Secretary
responsible for the interior by
section 14 of the Public Order
Decree, 1972 (NRCD 68) this
Instrument is made this 15th day
of February, 1982.
Section 1—Imposition of Curfew.
No person within the boundaries of
Ghana shall be out of doors
between the hours specified
respectively in the Schedule to
this Law except under the written
permission of the Provisional
National Defence Council or a
person authorised in that behalf
by the Council.
Section 2—Exemption.
The following persons shall be
exempted from the provisions of
section 1 of this Law:—
(a) members of the People's Armed
Forces in uniform and on duty;
(b) Police Officers on duty;
(c) members of the Fire Service on
duty;
(d) doctors and nurses on duty;
and
(e) such other persons as the
Council may direct.
Section 3—Suspension of Curfew.
The Council or any other authority
designated by the Council may
suspend the operation of the
curfew imposed by this instrument
throughout Ghana or in any part
thereof and may similarly
terminate the suspension.
Section 4—Interpretation.
In this Instrument " Council "
means the Provisional National
Defence
Council.
Section 5—Commencement.
This Instrument shall be deemed to
have come into force on the 31st
of December,
1981.
