WHEREAS under section 2 of the
Public Holidays Law, 1989 (P.N.D.C.L.
220) the President may by
Executive Instrument declare as a
public holiday a day other than
the days specified as a statutory
public holiday under that Law;
AND WHEREAS the President
considers that the 31st day of
December 1999 be declared a public
holiday for the avoidance of
technological difficulties
associated with the advent of the
Millennium;
NOW THEREFORE in exercise of the
powers conferred on the President
by section 2 of the Public
Holidays Law, 1989 (P.N.D.C.L.
220) this Instrument is made this
26th day of October, 1999.
FRIDAY, the 31st day of December,
1999 is hereby declared a public
holiday.
