WHEREAS by Executive Instrument
No. 61 dated 23rd day of April,
1975, titled STATE LANDS
(ACCRA—SITE FOR NATIONAL OLYMPIC
SPORTS COMPLEX) INSTRUMENT, 1975,
the lands described in the
Schedule to the Instrument were
declared by the National
Redemption Council to be land
required in the public interest
under subsection (1) of section 1
of the State Lands Act, 1962 (Act
125).
WHEREAS Government realises that
there has been extensive
development of the area for
residential purposes and on social
and humanitarian grounds considers
that the land be used for
residential purposes instead of
the Olympic Sports Complex and
titles of all holders regularised
as land leased to them by
Government subject to the payment
of such penalties as the Lands
Commission may determine;
NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the
powers conferred on the President
by subsection (1) of section 1 of
the State Lands Act, 1962 (Act
125) this Instrument is made this
7th day of January, 2000.
The land specified in the Schedule
to this Instrument being the land
scheduled to the State Lands
(Accra—Site for National Olympic
Sports Complex) Instrument, 1975
(Executive Instrument No. 61)
dated 23rd April, 1975 is hereby
redesignated as land required in
the public interest to be used for
residential purpose.
SCHEDULE
All that piece of land containing
an approximate area of 2929.73
acres situate at North-east of
Odorkor in the City of Accra in
the Eastern Region of the Republic
of Ghana lying to and adjoining
the northern edge of the Accra-Tema
Motorway and to the West of Accra-Nsawam
Road and bounded on the North by
an open space and measuring on
that side 8,600 feet and 2,200
feet respectively on the West
partly by an open space and an
unnamed road measuring on that
side 2,500 feet, 2,100 feet and
6,000 feet respectively on the
South by the said Accra-Tema
Motorway measuring on that side
13,300 feet and on the West by an
open space measuring on that side
17,800 feet which piece of land is
more particularly delineated on
Plan No. L.D. 8666/AC.31 attached
hereto and thereon shewn edged
pink.
