WHEREAS under Section 2 of the
Public Holidays Act, 2001 (Act
601) the President may by
Executive Instrument declare as a
public holiday a day other than
the days specified as statutory
public holidays under the Act.
WHEREAS Eid-al-Fitr (Ramadan) is a
statutory public holiday and falls
on Sunday, 16th December, 2001.
AND WHEREAS the President
considers it appropriate that
Monday, 17th of December 2001 be
declared a public holiday for the
celebration of Eid-al-Fitr
(Ramadan).
NOW THEREFORE in exercise of the
powers conferred on the President
by Section 2 of the Public
Holidays Act, 2001 (Act 601) this
instrument is made this 11th day
of December 2001.
Monday the 17th of December, 2001
is hereby declared a public
holiday.
