WHEREAS Sunday the 1st July, 2001
Republic Day, is a statutory
public holiday.
WHEREAS Monday the 2nd of July,
2001 is not a statutory public
holiday.
WHEREAS in the absence of the
President the Vice-President
performs the functions of the
President.
NOW THEREFORE in exercise of the
powers conferred on the President
under section 3 of the Public
Holidays Act, 2001 (Act 601), the
President being satisfied that it
would be inexpedient for Sunday
the 1st of July, 2001 to be
observed as a public holiday,
makes this Instrument this 28th
day of June, 2001.
Monday the 2nd of July, 2001 is
declared a public holiday.
