WHEREAS by Executive Instrument
No. 22 dated 14th April, 1980, the
two (2) pieces of parcels of land
known as Plots 'A' and 'B'
containing an approximate total
area of 223.19 acres situate at
Elmina in the
Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem
District of the Central Region of
the Republic of Ghana more
particularly described in the
Schedule thereto were declared as
land required in the public
interest pursuant to the
provisions of subsection (1) of
the section 1 of the State Lands
Act, 1962 (Act 125).
AND WHEREAS as a result of various
factors necessitating the need to
review the development of housing
estates throughout Ghana by the
Social Security and National
Insurance Trust (SSNIT), the
President has decided to retain
only 27.72 acres of the said
pieces or parcels of land.
NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the
powers conferred on the President
by subsection (1) of section 1of
the State Lands Act, 1962 (Act
125), this Instrument is made this
13th day of May, 2003.
The State Lands (Elmina—Site for
Workers' Village) Instrument, 1980
(E.I. 22) is hereby amended by the
substitution of the land described
in the schedule thereto for the
land described in the schedule
hereunder.
SCHEDULE
All that piece or parcel of land
known as Site for SSNIT Workers'
Village containing an approximate
area of 27.72 acres situate and
lying North-east of the Sekondi-Cape
Coast motor road in the
Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem
District of the Central Region of
the Republic of Ghana bounded on
or towards the North by open space
measuring a total distance of 820
feet more or less; on or towards
the East by open space measuring
1420 feet more or less; on or
towards the South by open space
measuring a total distance of 1015
feet more or less; on or towards
the West by open space measuring a
total distance of 1095 feet more
or less as the same piece or
parcel of land is more
particularly delineated on Plan
No. LC82/65233 and thereon shown
edged pink.
