WHEREAS under
Section 2 of the Public Holidays
Act, 2001 (Act 601) the
President may by Executive
Instrument declare as a public
holiday a day other than the
days specified as statutory
public holidays in that Act;
WHEREAS Tuesday,
the 21st September is not a
statutory public holiday.
AND WHEREAS the President has
determined that Tuesday,
the
21st
of September,
2010 be celebrated as Founder's
Day in commemoration of the
centenary birthday of Osagyefo
Dr. Kwame Nkrumah,
the first President of the
Republic of Ghana;
NOW THEREFORE in exercise of the
powers conferred on the
President under section 2 of the
Public Holidays Act, 2001 (Act
601), the President declares
that Tuesday, the 21st September,
2010 be observed as a public
holiday and makes this
Instrument this 16th day of
September,
2010,
to this effect.
Tuesday, the 21st September,
2010 is declared a public
holiday.
